Learning Objectives
1.Provide information about ancillary services that will help the case manager facilitate a safe return to work for those injured workers who are out of work.
2.Explain the difference between Independent Medical Examinations and Second Opinions as well as the appropriate time to refer Injured Workers for each.
3.Instruct on ways to effectively document case management services and prepare professional, objective reports for all involved parties in a workers comp or disability claim.
4.Discuss current legal issues in workers compensation cases in NC, affecting case management services.
5.Provide an opportunity for case managers to review a sample case and apply techniques and ideas learned in this training and learn how to apply these techniques to their specific cases.
